Re: sparkles in the eye..

Hi,
Your message caught my eye (No joke intended)...
I have had the very same problem for the past three weeks but mine is in my left eye. I was getting sparkling silver lights and a sort of film would cover my eye making vision practically impossible. The sparkling lights were awful and could last from 5-30 mins at a time.
I rang my optician and he told me to see an Optical-Dr as soon as possible incase it was a detatched retina. I got an appointment (private) the same day and after various tests he informed me that my problem was a jelly like substance (Apparently we all have this) at the back of my eye and that in certain age people this can congeal causing this problem and that I did not have a retina problem. I have to go back again in ten days time. The symptoms have eased off a bit but I will seek to see a specialist if it remains.
I think your daughter should see an Optitian or an Optical-Dr as her condition could be different to mine. She should get it looked at as soon as possible,

Solofelix.

It may be that she has "floaters." She should see an opthamologist.
