Helping my fiance

I hope someone can give me some advice. My fiance just entered detox today for oxycodone. What are some ways I can support her best without enabling her? Thank you for any help.

Re: Helping my fiance

Good for her.. Did she go into a facility or is she detoxing at home on her own? Well, first I would tell you since I have gone thru this myself recently that this phase will be depressing for her.. That much I know for sure.. So the best advice I can give you is have her focus on the positive things in your life together.. Sounds like there is an upcoming wedding.. focus on that stuff.. Show her as much love and support as possible so she knows YOU are her rock she can lean on.. Sounds like you have that part figured out though since you are on here.. Good for you!
Keep in touch. Let us know how she does.. Hang in there.. It will get better.. I am 12 days completely off oxy's and I feel a LOT better. The w/d are gone. I still miss the high but I am dealing with that.. She will probably face all these things so just hang in there... This can be beat!

Re: Helping my fiance

When I went into and came out of rehab, the best thing my wife did for me, was rather then talk about how I was, she told me how great the difference was now that i was getting better. Just be there....I wish you the best...and of course her as well
