how do i help mom? hi everybody, hope you are all doing well. i wanted to ask, i'm a teenager and my mom just got diagnosed with breast cancer. well, i think it's going to be okay, she can make it through it, i know she can. me and my father will bet there for her and as long as she keeps the faith, it'll be fine. i wanted to know if any of you had any recommendations for me in terms of how i should help her out? she's just beginning this whole fight and i feel like she's already given up! how do i encourage her etc? i know what it's like to go through hard times (not specifically cancer, but i did have unsuccessful brain surgeries) any thoughts would be just great. i wish all of you the best of health thanks. megster |

Hi Megster My mom also went through breast cancer 3 years ago. It just came back last month in the lymph node. I have gone with my mom to all her doctor appointments, picked her up from surgery etc. my mom is divorced so this makes it even harder. I also find that when my husband I invite her over we talk about other things, rent movies and try to keep her mind off of it. I know this is very hard- but stay positive and tell you Mom that this can be beaten and is treatable. What treatment is your mom going to require? Lori |
