atypical cells in the lung but not cancer
My husband has been dealing with fluid on the lung for 9 months. He had it removed twice and eventually had a biopsy and Talcum put into the Pleura to seal it off, ( kind of cement it) so no more fluid can build up and obstruct his breathing. That was the right side, now the left has more fluid in it and he is going to have the same procedure done.
This is just a band aid in my opinion as the source of the lung irritation is not known. Biopsies were done on the right lung and the surgeon said he had rawness but no polyps or tumour, Now we have the biopsy results and they say he has atypical cells in the lung.
He is not receiving any treatment and they don't seem to know what it is exactly. We are in limbo now. He was a pipe smoker but has now quit. He has been in good health up until he caught a cold last Oct when we were travelling. He is not prone to colds and this one hung and and he did not treat it until it was really serious. Parasites have been tested for and ruled out.
We have been told to go to a bigger centre but we had his charts and tests checked out by someone with experience and they felt we were in good hands where we were.
He leads a healthy lifestyle and exercises regularly so not much else we can do but wait and see and it's that, that is driving us crazy. We will do and try alternative medicine if need be. We have used a homeopath early on in this journey but it's a fair distance for us to travel. We did complete the regine she set up for us.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas or input
Thanks so much
