Dad has stg 4 lung cancer - how much time do I have left with him?
My Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 adeno lung cancer 7 months ago and is now in his 2nd round of chemo. He's down to 99 lbs. and sleeps most of the time. He coughs when he's sitting up but not when he's laying down. Still eats & drinks but very little. I've moved here from another state to stay with him until the end. Does anyone know how the progression of the disease affects things? Can I tell by the symptoms if he's got weeks or months left? What are they? I want him around as long as possible, of course, and at some point need to decide when to switch from chemo to hospice. I know no two people are exactly the same but I'd greatly appreciate hearing any experiences you've had. Thank you.
