I can't really say that I have a direct answer to your question but my mom was just diagnosed with cancer, had her first round of chemo, and now has pnemonia. It is small cell unindifferientiated carcinoma that collapsed her right lung, and so now they are doing radiation in conjunction with the chemotherapy. She has to have her oxygen on at all times, and has her ups and downs. The doctors didn't give her a time frame, but I like to have a positive outlook. Sorry this isn't a direct answer to your question, but I would ask one of your husbands doctors and see what they have to say. As for my mom, they all say different things, so it is hard to tell. I'm sorry you have to go through this.
