hello everyone, my dad has been diagnosed with esophagus and stomach cancer stage 4....he goes for his first chemo session 2morrow. we do know what to expect and it is very scary. I have heard of people surviving this type of cancer but not sure of the rate...im not sure of what to say here just need to reach out to someone to try to get an understanding of it all....I know he is afraid
I'm sorry your dad is going thru this. I don't have the answers to your questions but wanted to reach out to you and let you know that someone cares! I do know that attitude and support both play a big part in treatment and survival also. Keep a positive attitude. Your dad is going in for treatment to fix a problem. Look at it that way. I've also heard visualation helps. Tell him to visualize army men running thru his system killing off all the cancer (or something similar) while he's getting his treatment. It can be any type of image that works for him, that was just the first one that came to my mind. He can visualize a healing white light surrounding him and protecting him. Be there for moral support and encourage him to stay posive and take one day at a time. Good luck to you both and please come back and continue posting. I'll keep your dad in my thoughts.
