My friend was dx with stage IV PC with 2 tumors on the liver in Jan. 2012. She has done remarkably well on chemo until 2 months ago. She's now having a terrible time getting her bilirubin numbers to come down. She's had multiple drain replacements and currently has 2 drains in. They've tried putting stents in but they either can't get them in or they collaspe once they are in. She had 2 new drains put in last Friday and today had her bilirubin numbers checked and found that had risen.
The two new drains were pointless.
Is this the beginning of the end? Her other blood levels are all normal however she does feel tired. She's on major pain meds that are working for her thank goodness.
What can be expected in the coming weeks? Will her body slowly become toxic until it can no longer handle it?
