Planning a child

Hi, me and my gf are working on our second child, me and her both have hsv2. The first time around I never paid much mind to the possibility of passing it on to a child, I was told having a cesarean section was all most worry free in that case. Well I still have my concernes. Our first born is free and clear of hsv2. My questions are as follows, is it safe to assume that there is little to no risk of passing it on to a newborn via c-section? Is there things she can do to help the situation further? Ie take valtrex and such?

Thanks for any information in advance.
