Hi everyone
im kelle im 26. ok heres my story. last sunday i started to get flu like symptoms. chills, body aches, actually my body aches all over, nausea, abdominal pain, sweaty palms, very weak and tired. I have felt this way all weak and i still feel this way. only everyday i feel worse instead of better. i also have anxiety and depression. i went to the ER yesterday where they told me i had viral gastroenteritis. all week my anxiety has been through the roof cause i dont feel myself getting better. i am a wreck. i think i might have mono, but not sure. everyone is telling me its my anxiety causing me to feel so bad. or is it fibro. i dont know much about it and was wondering if anyone can help me out..Thank you

Hi Kellie,

I suggest that you get yourself under a doctor's care so that you can be evaluated for all the things you mentioned that you might have. Then, if you rule all of those things out, and you continue to feel the way you do, discuss fibro with your doctor. See if he is familiar with the symptoms, and if he actually believes it is real, some don't they think it's all in our heads (yeah, right!) and go from there. Your health is very important, don't try to self diagnose something like this, get the help of a physician. I hope you get to feeling better and you find out it was just the flu and not fibro.

Kelle, while getting a thorough evaluation, I suggest also checking out the possibility of Lyme Disease and the other tickborne infections: Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis HME & HGE, and Bartonella. When Lyme is a possibility, it is very important to see a knowledgeable doctor.

Kel,

I would not jump to the conclusion that you have fibro after only one week of not feeling well. Fibro is something that doesn't hit you over night, and I would hope that a doctor would not diagnose you with fibro after only one week of symptoms. Usually they want you to have symptoms for at least 3 consecutive months - my doctor waited 18 months before he decided I had fibro, and then wouldn't send me to a specialist for confirmation. I had to change doctors in order to be referred to a Rheumatologist for a second opinion. That was eight years ago when if you had aches and pains that didn't show up on a blood test doctors didn't think there was anything wrong with you.
