Disability case. Any good papers etc to show lawyer

Hi
I have gotten denied disability once last year, then this year (as a new case) and now I have a lawyer sending my stuff for the rereview ror whatever they call it. I was diagnosed (finally) with the fm after this past denial.
As a former office mgr and as a hairdresser, neither job is something I can do anymore. I have enough trouble just getting through the day with pain, fatigue etc.
Anyone know any good links/papers/anything? I can help my case along with? SSI says they see I am in pain but should still be able to do my jobs. I cant even vacuum for crying out loud!!Or drive half the time cuz I cant turn my neck! I think my age works against me (32). I do have med records for about 15 years of chronic neck/back pain, a diag. of cervical instablility c4 and 5 are 3.5mm apart and c3 and 4 are 3mm apart as well as the fibro, bursitis and tendonitis. ANy help is appreciated.

Hi. My mother has fibro. as well and we are in the same boat. She was denied last year as well and it seems like forever just to get the case heard again. I hate to say that we have not been able to find any real court cases for fibro. but I would like to say good luck and that you're not alone in your fight to get disability. I think what gets me the most is that I see my mom in pain everyday but these judges see the fibro. patient for a couple of hours and still think they know best. If they only knew. Good Luck. and God bless.

So true! I can be having a good or bad day when I see these dr's or talk to the SSA people. Thanx for your support and god bless you too!

It is possible, at least in Idaho, to get SSI with only the FMS diagnosis, but it takes a lot of documentation of how your symptoms limit your activities and your doctor backing you up. You will get turned down for sure the first time through and probably the appeal. With a lawyer the judge will probably rule in your favor if you can prove FMS has disabled you to the point you cannot provide yourself a living income. This we did with our youngest daughter.

New news on SS. If you cannot do the job now that you were doing, it should be easier now to be declared disabled. One needs to prove that you cannot do today what you did formerly. This is the main goal in seeking disability and you need proof by getting all the information from former employers of what your job duties were.
Sometimes appointments may be set up by SS for performance abilities. If you can't pick up more than three pounds (an example) without pain, be sure to let the evalulater see this. I went through some awful physical and mental tests. Evaluations are stressful but don't try to do your best, it will go against what you deal with everyday. MistyMisty
