Hi, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My sis was just diagnosed positive for it yesterday. Those lumps and bumps could be from fibro trigger point pain and I think they are caused by the cells not getting rid of the phosphates. And when you use your muscles in a repeated manner, like vacuuming or pushing a mop, the muscles build up something called lactic acid which makes the muscles feel hard and sore. I know warm moist heat applied to those areas does feel soothing, at least it helps me.

Guifenesin taken over a long period of time might help some people with this, but if you look into that it is a very hard regime to stick to. You can do an internet search and learn more about it. This is the only thing that I know of that will help the cells get rid of the phosphates that cause those lumps and bumps and knots and sore muscles. I am not on it but I and my sister are thinking of trying it.

In the beginning there will be more pain, called herxing, as the cells get rid of the toxins. I was in so much pain last year before I started Naltrexone that I decided not to try it then. Also you need to stop using products with salicylates, such as alovera shampoos, some hair conditioners, aspirin, hand lotions, and some facial make-up that might cause it to "block" the action of the drug.

Some doctors do not believe in the guifenisen therapy at all. Nor do they believe in prescribing low dose Naltrexone. (Naltrexone raises the endorphins while you sleep.) Taking Naltrexone has helped my morning pain and stiffness. Until I started it I was so stiff I could hardly walk to the bathroom in the mornings. I had more lumps and bumps all over my body too.

Neither drug is a cure. But what I have been using has made this syndrome more bearable. But each one of us has to find our own combination of things that help. That is not easy and might take a lot of experimentation.

I find that walking does not cause my legs to develope fibr "lumps." But I do take a combination of magnesium/calcium/Vitamin D/Boron for muscle twitches that helps a lot. Nice to see you here asking questions. I hope I have helped in some way. MistyMisty
