swollen muscles

Hi, My Dr now thinks I have fibro. He checked my back after complaining of this constant burning in upper back area. He said that the muscles on the right side of my back are swollen. I also have 12/18 trigger points, sleep problems, pain, (especially in the ribs, chest and back), tingling etc.
I don't know much about Fibro., so have a couple questions. My CRP and WBC came back elevated. My Dr said its consistent with inflammation. Now, I do have Achilles Tendonitis, and chostocondritis which are both inflammatory disorders, is Fibro an inflammatory disorder as well?
Also, is swollen muscles(in mu back) consistent with Fibro.
Sorry I seem so uneducated but I am trying to piece this all together.

Oddly-I do not have IBS, nor migraines which I hear are common in Fibro.

Thanks for any help you can give me,
Abby

Re: swollen muscles

It is difficult to say if muscles are swollen or these are simply muscles being bunched up from being tensed and inability to relax. Most of us have totally negative blood work which seems to be major problem in treating us. We are therefore treated conservatively to get rid of symptoms by drug trial and error. We all react different to medications so treatment does not work same on everybody. Therefore, one has to find a consciencious doctor who believes in fibro patients and is not narrow minded in treatment as there is no quick fix. (TT)
