Anyone else deal with this? It seems like, well, right before good 'ol mother nature comes for a visit, my pain intensifies greatly. That's how I usually know she's on the way. It's usually only 2 days before.. but this time it's lasted 4 days and still no crampy feeling or anything going on.
Makes me wonder if my pain has anything to do with hormones.. or at least maybe the hormonal change during this time somehow makes things worse? SOMETHING is making it worse. I can't help but think they're connected.
I have my follow-up appt. with the meaniehead Rheumy Monday. I'll get my bloodwork back. Hopefully something will show up. The main thing is the darn ANA test (AGAIN) to see if that's negative (AGAIN).. then maybe Lupus will be ruled out. Of course I have tons of Lupus symptoms as well as Fibro.. the rashes, but not on my face, mouth ulcers, a few other things.
Gahhhhhhh. At least my hubby will be with me this time. He doesn't take any **** from doctors. He's MUCH more vocal than I am and if the Rheumy says ANYTHING about depression, he'll put him in his place real darn quick!
Ok, anyway, back to the original question.. anyone else?
Re: That time of the month - exacerbation of pain?
My time of month is long gone, but definitely heat has got me knocked down big time. I have a nonhealing lesion on my rear end which looks like ringworm that I noticed many months ago while drying off after bath and I felt this rough area. Now I just love to look at this particular view after getting out of tub in mirror. Too bad I don't have a Polaroid and I could take a picture of it. I got to moon one doctor who insisted it was going away. Yah, right, and how many years will it take to disappear. However, the second one seemed totally interested when I mentioned this to her. I know this is associated with my fibro fit as it coincides with other skin abnormalities. I think they drained my blood supply doing ANA testing and of course they were all negative. I have to laugh about your hubby being support spokesman. The doctor will think to himself "Just what I thought both of them are psychos!" (TT)

lol yeh he'll probably think that.. but oh well. Hubby will make darn sure he doesn't think it again. He got one doc to do a cat scan of my head after a fall that I had - I was having some dizziness after I passed out and hit my head on the bathtub. The quack said I didn't need one, that I was just fine because I had no swelling or anything like that. So hubby threatened Malpractice if he didn't do it and something happened to me. Needless to say, I got the cat scan THAT DAY. Hubby has the power
He rarely gets to go with me to the docs because he has to take off work to do so, or watch the kids or something. But he's got that afternoon off and I have a sitter this time. He's already fuming from how the idiot treated me when I was there the last time, so I'm sure he'll set him straight if he gets "lippy" lol
Re: That time of the month - exacerbation of pain?
What is it with doctors and depression?!! Depression is a very serious and yes very common disease but I think they use it to get out of diagnosing what they should really be diagnosing way to much! Wish you well and hope you have a great day! Good thing for good hubby's huh!
Re: That time of the month - exacerbation of pain?
The depression thing is annoying. I finally got my doctor to understand that "NO, I'm not depressed, I just feel like crap and can't do anything I love which makes me sad."
About the period thing, my doc recently had to fill out a functional capacity report for SSI appeal and it asked on it if I had PMS that aggravated fibro so it's part of the whole fibro thing and very common from what I hear.
I seem to remember before I had my son that when I got my period I often had to call into work a few days BEFORE I got it. My periods have always been fine but the few days before my body would hurt badly.
One nice thing about pregnancy and nursing is that I've had only three periods in the last 32 months.
