| Re: numb hands
Hi firefly, I get this too as I'm sure many others do. Sometimes I drop things all day long because I can't grasp them. I know it's scary but if you rest your hands it should go away. It just seems to be from overuse. Even if you don't have any pain in your neck or shoulders, it could be coming from there as well.
You can try putting ice/heat on your neck and shoulders. I find dipping my hands in warm water, a paraffin bath or a bowl of dried beans heated in the microwave helps. Just be careful with your hands when they are numb. I took me awhile to realize that this is a bad time for me to handle heavy things, glassware or use knives as in cooking.
Don't worry, it's not permanent, just another intermittent annoyance.
You can also wrap your hands/wrists with ace bandages and bengay or some other cream like you were making a wrist brace. That seems to help when I just can't use them at all.
