At first I was afraid, I was petrified.
Kept thinking I could never live without my right side.
Then I spent so many nights with no sleep and aching bones.
I used to cry, but now I hold my head up high.

I'm not that crippled up young person giving in to you.
And so you felt like acting up and keeping me in bed.
