Well Wishes for the Board

Hi All,

I just wanted to say I'm sorry so many of you are having a really, really hard time right now. It does seem to go in cycles. I've been tied up trying to rest and get ready for my son's birthday party at the same time.

I've read some of the posts and want to welcome all the newbies. I'm sorry you are afflicted but you've come to the right place for help and support. To all my posting friends in pain I hope you have better days ahead.

Thank you to Daized for the donut pillow reminder. I bought one on Thursday and my sitting is much easier now.

I'll be back and posting more after the weekend but I just wanted to say that my prayers and thoughts are with all of you who suffer, as well as myself.

I'm not gonna say hang in there or keep your chin up because sometimes being sick just sucks and that's all there is to it.

Re: Well Wishes for the Board

You're right---sometimes being sick is just miserable and we have to go through it. It was nice to read your well-wishes to all here on the message board--it made me feel a little better.

Hope your weekend is going OK. Mine is a disaster.

Ed

Re: Well Wishes for the Board

Aww Ed, sorry to hear that.

Mine was really good but really exhausting. I thought I was gonna keel over and die after my son's b-day party. I am a pseudo Martha Stewart (without the crime of course) but I don't have the physical capacity to do it anymore. I kept his party soooooo simple but even the little bit I did, just some light shopping and serving cake and ice cream wore me out.

It was very hot out so we kept the party down to less than two hours. My feet hurt so badly. I forgot what that is like because I'm not on my feet a lot. Felt like back in my twenties when I would wear heels dancing.

I'll check out the other posts and see if you wrote more about your bad weekend.

We really pay a price for having any kind of enjoyment out of life.

Re: Well Wishes for the Board

Hi Taurus--

I didn't mention that at the shore we have casinos, so my wife went on a slot marathon and I trailed her around on the floor keeping an eye on the money. Finally I crashed in the hotel room and she was alone and put back the money she won. (She claims it's just the fun of playing slots).

And before we went we drove to her mother's nursing home and we were wheeling her all over and that was tiring enough.

And--when the morning came at the casino---she started playing again and there i was with a night's sleep, but trailing her around the casino again to watch the money.

And then back to the nursing home to visit.........

So--you can see the merry-go-round. the money thing at the casino worked out and the visit with her mother was OK, but it's like you B-day party for your son----it exhausted me.

I will not under any circumstances do anymore summer ventures like that on a holiday weekend or not. And boy, do I dread the holidays.....too much of everything.

I learned my lesson.....again.

(And I could have trusted her in the casino, but I just make sure she's not alone for too long----she claims it's not fun without me joining in.
So-I throw a few bucks in a machine, curse the fibromyalgia and....you know the routine. Show time. See I'm not that bad. And then when she disappears to work I can crash and know that I pulled it all of as being semi-normal. Or a Fibro who can live a full life. (Yeah, right).

happy birthday to your son,

Ed

Hi Ed. You mentioned shore casinos. Would you happen to be in the Gulfport/Biloxi area? I was just wondering cuz I live near Gulf Shores Alabama. I know what you mean about those casinos. I don't find them much fun, except for the Buffet Restaraunts! Besides, I never win, and it's to much work walking around to the different machines!

Anyhoo, I just thought I 'd ask to see if you were in my "neighborhood".
Have a good day.
