Hi all.

Newly formally diagnosed (after four years) and found this board. I'm wondering if any of you are worse in the summer and if your pain is mainly in the chest/diaphragm/thoracic area? This is definitely the worst for me. Don't even want to eat. I'm also running a low grade fever which UC doc says is probably related. My sympathy and hopeful thoughts go out to all of you. Thank you in advance for your thoughts on this.

Hi Shannon and welcome. I have the most severe pain in the same area as you, and also my shoulders and elbows. This is the first time since I've been diagnosed that I've had pain and burning this bad in the Summer. Usually mine isn't bad until the Winter really kicks in. Everyone that I've talked with seems to be having more problems than normal this Summer, pain, allergies, etc. Hope this helps.

Hi Chris.

Yes, your post does help. As I've read through these, I don't find any mention of chest/diaphragm pain nor worse in the summer symptoms which leads me to think, oh, no, this can't be fibro 'cause nobody else has my symptoms!!! Also, my pain will move around my chest, right side one day, left side later that same day, down the center into the diaphragm maybe an hour or so after that then through to the back, over to the arms........I can't seem to reproduce it with movement on a consistent basis. It does what it wants.
Anyway, thanks for letting me take up space to complain and for taking the time to respond. I truly appreciate it and this website!!

That is the same exact thing that happens to me. I saw your answer to my other post, and I think that's my problem too. I have just enough information to be dangerous to myself. Even though the Drs. tell me that I would be dead by now if it were my heart, I have such a hard time with the symptoms. I've had blood tests, several EKG's and a stress test, I seem to be fine. I just can't figure out the reason for torturing myself with this. I just know I'm tired of being 40 and feeling like I'm 90.

Hi Shannon and welcome.Glad you found us, there are a lot of great people here, always here to encourage you.

This summer was really bad for me also, fm was bad and allergies were never this bad.

Your chest pain could be costrochondritis, this is very common with fmers. I have that also, but my pain is the ribs under the left breast, the breast and the upper shoulder,and the blade mainly on the left. but who knows what is coming from what.
