Hey New Here - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Hey Everyone, I am new to these boards. I have had FM for over a year and my horrible symptoms include, pain all over, sleeplessness, fibro-fog, irritable bowel, along with many more that come and go. Like most of us I have tried tons of meds and am currently taking 50 mg of Zoloft in the morning, 1 to 2 Ultracet a day (which kill mosty of my pain) Celebrex, 200 mg 1 to 2 times a day along with other medicine I take for my Polycystic Ovarian syndrome. I wonder when I am just going to turn into one big prescription pill bottle (LOL)!!! Coping with this disease is rough and I would love the hear from anyone who needs a little support or who wants to give some. Beleive me I have my days! I am only 26 and it has definitely change me in some ways for the better and some ways for the worse. Hello All!

I now take Zoloft 100 and I don't know that it is any different. Can't take ultracet anymore because it causes my stomach to hemmorage so I'm on vicodine and tylonal. I understand your concern on the number of meds. I sometimes think I might explode from so many pills and how they might interact with each other!

I'm so sorry this has hit you at such a young age. What a bummer. Hang in there and keep bugging the docs for help. It was great for me to find this board right after I was finally diagnoised (only took 4 years). We all need a sounding board and a place to scream. Best of luck!

Welcome to the board. I've been happy to see so many new people. Not happy that they have this awful disease but happy that more people are finding it helpful. It's made such a difference in my life. I have been home from work for two years and have felt very lonely and isolated at times.

Thanks!!! It is so great to feel like someone understands you and how you feel. This first year has been totally rough for me....I am trying to nail down getting the pain under control!!! The first six months you could have sworn I was going to end up in a straight jacket, then I started on the road to getting my life back in touch...I was on Family medical leave for six months and am now able to work full time event though I must say that working full time is very very hard!
