Ayuerveda has been around for just about as long as there have been people in India. That's probably a pretty good recommendation that it works. The thing is, though, it's not a disease specific quick-fix, it is an all encompassing, long term process. It addresses not just the disease you are trying to heal, but rather, the physical core which created the environment for the disease to flourish. In short, it requires serious committment and lifestyle changes.
It works, the many millions of Indians are evidence of that. I have used it only in so far as "typing" my physical strength and weaknesses, and nutritional needs, which came out pretty accurately. I also don't feel like Ayurveda is something one "uses" on oneself, but under guidance of a practitioner.
