Hi everyone,
I haven't watched Oprah in such a long time and this evening I noticed she had a repeat show in the evening. Usually I'm too tired to turn the television on....but I think this may be a good idea for us. What caught my eye was how fantastic she looked. Granted she doesn't have fibro, but she did accomplish a great stride in losing and looking fabulous. I liked the fact she wasn't pushing a particular diet and it seemed rather simple for us fibro sufferers.
1. Exercise- Haven't we heard that before. Ha! But what if we tried to do it together. Meaning, step by step....a little at a time and the support of each other. Regarding the exercise, if we only walked 10 minutes in place inside or outside each day. If we can and feel up to it...increase and do something different, but do something.
2. She has stopped eating white. White sugar, white flour, etc... Let us just start with sugar, simple and many calories. Soda is my big problem! Pick just one thing...make it easy...like candy or cake or chips or soda....
3. 2 1/2 hours before bedtime is her cut off. If you go to bed at 10:30pm....don't eat anything else after 8pm.
We could report in every night....afternoon or morning....the next day...whenever we are feeling up to it. We each tell our story for the day....what little we accomplished....even if we were not able to accomplish. Supporting each other and sharing how one of us may have accomplished "1" of these steps, will enable the rest of us to give it a try. After listening to Oprah and reading the "fat" post....I am motivated. Mind you...I may be the first to say, to tired, hurt too much, just couldn't do it today...but we have to start somewhere. Most of us feel "pretty alone" in this battle. Whether we have children, a husband, honey, friends, family ....it's great to know we have each other and can relate.
Today is Tuesday....let's push for Thursday. Give everyone a chance to read this post and select 1, 2 or 3 of the above.
I'll create a post on Thursday that is short and to the point. "Support each other with 1, 2 or all 3." Of course depending on if anyone would like to do this.
Yea? Nay?
