low back pain started on my period and still here - Fibromyalgia Message Board

hi all. you all obviously know me by now and my story but lately i have had low back pain at pit of my back. it started on period and got worse. It has eased of today but still got funny pains down inner armsfrom wrists upwards. like a pulling feeling!!! so strange. i had this down my back of legs when pain was bad and couldnt sit or sleep properly. i dont know if i have fibro,sciatica, or back problem!! im waiting mri of head to rule out ms etc. this is a new symptom, does fibro cause this sort of pain? cheers, april x

My fibro initially started with sciatica. Every time I get my period, my lower back is sore for a few days before my period right up until a few days after my period. When this happens, I go for lower back acupuncture (it really works).

Have u seen a neurologist? For nerve testing?

hi thanks for replying. i saw a neuro in sept, waiitng for mri. just had physical and passed. i dont want to go doctors because they dont seem to help. aprilxx

I had the same problem with doctors. Once I finally got all the test done (all normal) and saw a rheumatologist who confirmed the FM diagnosis, my family doctor has been much, much better. I think they are just as frustrated as we are in trying to find a definite diagnosis and treatment. I think I've asked you this before, but why have you had to wait so long for an MRI?
