A quick question - Fibromyalgia Message Board

I was just wondering what kind of tests you go through for a definate Fibromyalgia diagnosis? Or is it just a label for a problem that the doctors just cannot fathom out i.e, "yeah this patient has pains all over but we cannot find anything that could be causing the problem so it has to be Fibromyalgia"?

there is no definitive test, yet. it is, for now, a process of eliminating all the other possibilities first. find the thread labeled "the list" and read it if you have not already.

I have read "the list" and I have so many of those symptoms and I fully agree with it being real, shame many doctors dont. Thanks.

remember that many doctors also do see fms as a real condition. find one of them. i like to feel them out first. i ask them what they think of fms. i already know they cannot treat it. i simply want to know their take on it. watch their body language and tone of voice. don't waste one minute of your time on a doc whose mind is closed. fms requires an open mind and the ability to listen from a doc. happy hunting.

ps print out the list and take it to your doctor. a good doctor does not mind learning from their patients.
