Hello troyp,
Glad you could join us. I'm not a medical doctor, but will comment from my own personal experiences. I too live in the UK so anything that you think might be of help, maybe I will be able to give you more information.
One thing I was going to ask you, do you have to see an Army doctor or can you go to a normal GP in civvy street? Perhaps if you can go to somebody who is not in the Army, you might feel less like you are putting your career at risk. Just a thought. I have loads of them you know he he. Just trying to brighten your day a bit troy, forgive me I am somewhat of a fruitcake he he. Seriously though I know how frightening things can be at times.
The back, leg and bum pain I agree with april sound so much like sciatica. I know that the treatment for this is exercise - like taking coals to Newcastle hey with your job - but also you can have a steroid injection into the sore point. It honestly does work. The other thing I use, not as convenient though is a topical foam like spray, it is so great. These are only the treatment I personally have because I also have lupus and lots of other problems, so I have to be careful what I use. This is why I am recommending them. Worth perhaps asking your doctor about though I think.
Your shoulder aches and so on, these are in a lot of cases stress related. You know, tensing your muscles up so much that the pain is horrendous. This might not be the case, it is only a suggestion. Stressful situations, do not help. You are not working at the moment. Is there a chance that you might be discharged because of the medical problems? Just a thought again, maybe the feelings of being worked up so much are contributing to the stiffness and therefore the headaches and the forgetfulness.
You don't actually say how old you are, but because of your employment I don't suppose you are an older person. I say that because problems with waterworks is something a lot of older people experience, no disrespect to older people. I take it you mean passing water - ugh sounds awful, my apologies for being blunt - when you say you need to go back again and again. Have the doctors check for a bladder or kidney infection or inflammmation? For yourself, go onto the internet and look up drinks, not food, that would have an affect on these organs.
Your tiredness. Wow, I thought when I read of your job that you really do have a hectic life. Just being in the Army must be so gruelling. Then your job of PTI, and your athletics. With all due repect troy, it's no wonder you are so exhausted. Also, your whole post seemed to me personally one of being so down in the dumps. I can totally relate to that, that is why I am commenting on it. Is there perhaps a chance that you might get to your doctor and ask him for a short course of anti depressants? Not everyone will agree with that I suppose, but I really feel that you need a real boost at the moment.
I do so hope that perhaps what I have said will be of use to you. It is just so good to share our problems and fears, and I would like to think that you will come back and just have a chat sometime.
Best of luck.
