Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

Has anyone else had these before?

Today was the first time I ever had this happen

I could visibly see my hands and arms shaking.....

Felt like my whole body was shaking but it was real light shaking....kind of hard to describe

I wasnt doing anything either.....just got a new book shelf and was switching books too it.....

So I'm not sure what it was.... Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen and what it might be.

god I just realized that all i ever posted was questions....Perhaps I should be more friendly and post replies to other people n such....

Sorry for being so rude guys.....I guess as a newly dx Fibromite I am just tryin to learn all i can!!!

Hope I havent offended anyone!!!

Thanks!!

Re: Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

Becca,
Yes, I've had these symptoms before...especially the shaking in my hands. It's actually more like a twitchy shake - does that make sense? I can feel it coming on before it hits. It's very odd.

Don't worry about asking alot of questions! We all ask questions, so you're not alone.

In case I didn't say it before... Welcome to the Board!!!

God bless, Jen

Re: Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

I get them off and on also, I feel like I am in a state of anxiety with them. I read that is common with fmer's to have tremors like this. Right now I have dealing with colon and stomach fluttering on and off for weeks. Sure is not a fun dd at all.

Welcome to the group, ask all the ?? you want, that is what we are here for to help and suport one another.

Hugs, Linda

Re: Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

Once a rhemotologist said my daughter could be developing fybromylasia. We switched rhemotologists since we moved and this one seems to thing she could be
developing Lupus, Rynolds, or something else. She has a Pos ANA and tremors all over her body. She is almost 16 but it started in or before 5th grade. She has an extensive history. See signature.

Re: Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

I've had tremors from fibromyalgia in my hands. It was because at that point the pain was literally so bad my nervous system was just overwhelmed. I was up in the 9-10 range and had been months without any pain management. I haven't had the tremors at all since I've had good PM.

Some of the medicines that they commonly dole out can cause tremors and extra pyramidal side effects - those include the entire range of tricyclic antidepressants (elavil for instance & chemical cousins like Flexeril), neuroleptic medications, SSRIs (prozac, paxil), SNRIs (effexor, cymbalta), and even the pain killer tramadol.
There are other medicines which can cause them as well. Usually this stops when you stop taking the offending medicine, but not always, many antidepressants & neuroleptics can cause permanent damage and movement disorders that persist. If you are on any of these medications you really should talk to your doctor about stopping them and seeing if the problem resolves...

Re: Hand and Arm tremors-Come with Fibro??

I have this problem occationally as well. Mine is often accompanied by a fluttering in my stomach as well. My hands will shake visibly. I thought it was anxiety (sometimes I think I think everything is anxiety!) but it seems to come and go so randomly I can't pin it down. I used to, years ago, take the medication Inderal (a blood pressure medication) for hand tremors when I was misdiagnosed with Bipolar disorder and was taking Lithium and developed "lithium tremors" in my hands so bad I could not write. But since being correctly diagnosed and going off the lithium I have not had a problem with constant shaking, just off and on. Sometimes mine is associated with not having eaten all day, too. I'd try tracking when it happens and keeping a diary or record of it, that way you can discuss it with your doctor and have a good idea of if there is a pattern or not.

Good luck. I have asked a lot of questions too and found everyone very helpful.

Exclamation Tremors all over body

My daughter is almost 16 and stilll has tremors all over her body. By now, we can actually see her hands, etc. shaking. She also has sensations of like
water or a liquid running through her joints. She now has developed a positive speckled ANA result. Rhemotologist has basically given up on trying to find anything. Although in a report I read from her stated, "she doesn't have Lupus yet". Sometimes she looses color in her hands too. I'm told this could be Rynalds. When she came to live with me when she was in 5th grade, she said she had developed the tremors years before that. I rarely saw her and her dad hadn't sought any medical treatment for any of her multiple med problems. She has been diagnosed for skeletal deformities throughout the body, global joint pain, polycystic ovarian disease, and hyperandrogen syndrome, and non-verbal learning disorder(autism). Some of the things she's been dignosed with since she came to live with me. She goes for physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy at a rehabilitation facility.

Becca, I have had hand tremors, severe cramps in my hands but don't know if it's my fibro or my Multiple Sclerosis. That's the major problem fibro, has a lot ot the same symptoms as other diseases especially autoimmune diseases. To my best understanding, the major problem with fibro is a sleep disorder that does not let you receive REM sleep, therefore you never feel rested. (there are perscription meds for this). Of course, there is constant fatigue, weakness and pain. Most of us experience depression and I feel like I have Altzheimers some time. I'm very forgetful and lose everything. There is no diagnostic test I know of but there is "pressure points" all over your body, I believe 18 of them, can be on one side of your body or both. They are in places like back of neck, chest, above elbows, hips, and inner sides of knees. You must have so many ( I believe 11 or 13 for diagnosis)..Some of these points you may not know you have, but if you choose (and you better) a physician (either a pain specialist or neurologist) they can find the points and when they touch them, you'll want to jump off the table. Hope I've been helpful.

Hi, this is about how I feel sometimes when my arms and legs get to shaking... LOL... I am one who has to laugh at myself, for if I don't I will drive myself crazy and believe me it seems like it is a very short drive.
I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. It seems like it gets worse when I am really under stress, so hopefully you are the same way, that way you can learn to not get so stressed out... that is what I did and it seems to help a little anyways.
please try and take care, sundance65
