A new pain... - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Good morning everyone,

I've developed a new pain and was wondering if anyone else has this. It's right in the middle of my right side of my butt. OUCH! It's not my sciatic nerve, I know what that feels like. It's partly a cramp, partly a stabbing pain. I have wicked hip pain, so maybe this is reflective pain from my hip? Just one more thing to add to my list.

Yes! I do! And that's exactly what it feels like to me too! How long do yours last? Mine last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. I just sorta call it a butt cramp.

Ditto here! Inside and around both butt cheeks. Have pain in my hips, too!

My husband had that pain when he was on Lipitor.

Could it be a rectal spasm? I have IBS and "spastic colon"(along with my fibro) and I sometimes get these in the middle of the night. Very painful and deep, usually to one side or the other. They have lasted a few to 15 minutes. Sitting on a heating pad has helped. I also get biliary and sphincter of odii spasms. Most of my fibro pain is in my hips also. I feel for ya!
