Hello all.

The more i search on the topic of "Fibromyalgia", the more I learn. Infact, there is a UK forum for Fibromyalgia too.

Did you know the following 3 things i learnt:

1. Prolotherapy helps for patients with fibromyalgia. "Prolo" is short for proliferation, because the treatment causes the proliferation (growth, formation) of new ligament tissue in areas where it has become weak. A lot of people opt for this before they opt for surgery. The therapy involves injecting a simple solution of concentrated dextrose, saline, or another agent into soft tissues such as ligaments or tendons. The solution is referred to as a "proliferating agent" because it produces a "proliferation of inflammation" in the injured area. Prolotherapy is effective because inflammation leads to healing. This happens when the body's anti-inflammatory chemicals, called macrophages, rush to respond to the inflammation, stimulating a natural healing response and promoting growth factors in the cells of the affected tendons and ligaments. Connective-tissue-builders called fibroblasts lay down new fibrous tissue wherever they detect damage, while other natural substances trigger the growth of new blood vessels and the flow of nutrients.

3. Candida yeast infection can manifest symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Unless treated, patients will continue to suffer. There are many yeast free regimens following which have cured many patients. But, you have to be positive for the Candida yeast infection test.

Also, Exercise. Yeah, this we all know. Aerobics and streching helps build new muscles and heal the damage. But how do we do if it hurts so bad. I am not strong enough to do this or take this challenge. Not yet! But, i am thinking about it. 30 mins a day, 3-4 days a week with STRONG pain killers like Vicodin. What say? I know easier said than done!!! But, we'll see...
