Exclamation IMPORTANT: Check out the list FDA recalled meds distributed by Able Laboratories

Hey everyone!

I don't know if any of you have heard about the FDA recall of certain meds that are manufactured by the Able Laboratories.

Well, I've already posted the list on the Pain Management Board so I didn't want to copy it here cuz it's pretty long.

I just wanted to let you know that the list is posted on the Pain Management Board under a thread titled: FDA List of Recalled meds by Able Laboratories: Long List

Most of the meds are the generic of name brand drugs. There are also lists of meds that are produced under different labels that Able Labs own. These are all identified in the list under the title of the label name that Able Labs owns. Each different label is in bold and underlined. There are instructions on how to read your meds to see if you have one of these meds. It tells you how to read the tablet, or the liquid formulation. The manufactorer (Able Labs) will be found on your script bottle. Usually found next to the name of the drug. i.e.:
DIAZEPAM TABS 5MG GX (Watson Pharma) <-- this is the name of the laboratory
Equiv to: VALIUM TABS 5MG

I know a lot of you use Tramadol (Ultram) and this is on the list. Whether your med is made by Able or not, well, you'll have to look at your pill bottle.

I actually have one of the meds on the list. I take Butabital which is generic Fioricet, used for tension headaches. So I guess, if there are no other labs that make a generic for Fioricet, I'll be getting the brand name now, and paying more for it! I'm not sure how it's going to work. I'll have to ask my doc who prescribes the med. Or ask the pharamacy if they carry another lab that makes Fioricet.

So when you look at the list, check out your pill bottle to be sure you have an Able Lab drug, then look at one of your tablets and it has numbers on the tablet that will tell you whether or not the "Imprint" number is part of the recall.

So if you have some meds that are made by Able Laboratory, check out the Pain Management Board and look for my thread under the title I listed earlier in this post.

There are a whole bunch of different kinds of meds, not just pain meds.

Check it out and like I said it IS a very long list. I tried to make it as readable as possible without taking up too much space. It still took 3 pages! Not one of my normal "babble" long posts, this one I'll blame on the drug company!

Love you all,
tk

Hey Thanks Glojer,

I know a lot of folks here don't visit the PM board, but I am on there a lot cuz of all my pain issues that aren't FM related. There are a lot of folks there who have back problems, and though I don't post on the Back Problems board, I DO post on the PM board. I know, doesn't make sense! LOL But I got to "know" a lot of the PM folks just like the folks here on the FM board, so I just stick with it, like I said, there are a lot of folks that have the same issues I have with my back and I get a lot of answers about different meds there. It really is a good source of information if you are wanting to know about issues with pain or the meds that are used to treat pain.

I will post on the back board every now and again if I see a thread there that relates to any of my issues.

It's like I don't usually post on the Chronic Fatigue board cuz I have been posting on the FM board for sooooooo long, and I don't know why, but the Chronic Fatigue board doesn't seem as "busy" as the FM board. Maybe cuz the two conditions are so similar. Besides, if I post on too many boards, I'll forget where the heck I am and where I posted! LOL Gotta keep the confusion to a minimum.

I hope that other folks will check out the list there, it really has an awful lot of meds listed there.

If everyone looks at their pill bottles and if you see the name "Able Lab" on your bottle, then it's important to check out that list.

I hope you are having a good weekend my friend,
tk

Re: IMPORTANT: Check out the list FDA recalled meds distributed by Able Laboratories

Question for you all?

Would it be easier, or would you all rather I copy that list of recalled meds to the FM board?

I'll post the list here if you all would rather have it here also. I just didn't want to duplicate the thread as I think the Mods kinda frown on that, tho I have done it before on certain boards if I noticed that the thread wasn't getting very many "hits".

I posted it on the PM board cuz it listed a lot of pain meds, it also listed a bunch of meds that I have no earthly idea WHAT they are for! LOL But I realize that so many of us here use pain meds, so I wanted to let you all know about the recall. I'm not sure if there are any Anti-Depressants listed, I didn't really look that closely. Like I said, I DO know that my headache med is listed there. Lithium is also there, which is a sedative. There are other sedatives there.

Basically, it is not a concern unless any of you (or if a family member) are using a med made by Able Labs.

Love you all,
tk
