Hi DC ... I wouldn't say it sounds exactly like Fibro. But then what I've read ... each person can differ a bit with their symptoms. I wonder if u do not have GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) which allows acid to come up where it shouldn't be when u r lying down. Maybe do some research on that ... acid in that area can cause a lot of pain. And maybe once u get started drinking and eating after u get up .. it settles it. I say this because I also have a stomuch problem which gives me severe pain in the upper part of my stomuch .. just under my ribs first thing in the morning ... I was put on an acid blocking drug for one month and so far so good. I'm having a colonoscopy shortly and an endoscopy for my symptoms. Another cause of lots of acid can be the bacteria called HPylori which can get into the stomuch ... can cause a lot of stomuch disorders which cause pain from the extra acid the bug causes .. including pain in the chest too as well as headaches. I guess ... it could be one of many things. You shouldn't be waking up with pain though .. so I would keep going back to the doc till they get to the bottom of it ... good luck!

... PS ... Symptoms of GERD are:
Chest pain, especially at night while lying down
Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
Coughing, wheezing, asthma, hoarseness or sore throat
Regurgitated blood
Stool that's black, which may mean it contains partially digested blood
The bleeding may not be a symptom at first ... but rather if the condition is left untreated.
