I assume whether you're taking it for anxiety or anything else that it's going to cost the same? Everyone says it's not covered by any insurance at all? I know my neurologist can prescribe it to me for migraines, but that's not going to make a difference is it? So how much does Cymbalta cost? And is it per month?
Nathan,
My insurance does cover it. It does not matter the amount or dosage, as long as it is a 30 day supply. The problem is, there is no generic for it, and it is not considered a "preferred" medication by my insurance company, so my co-payment is $50 for a 30 day supply. I take 60mgs a day. I think the cost that it says it would be without the insurance was like $265. I have United Healthcare which is supposed to be one of the better companies, and really it is, except when you need to get one of the newer meds that there is no generic for yet. Generics would cost me $10, and a preferred brand $25. It is an expensive med, there's no doubt about it.
The same for me my ins. covers it but my co-pay is $50, you can ck out any of the large chain pharmacy sites and price medications on line, I'm pretty sure you won't find a loy of difference in prices.
Good Luck. Linda
is there anyway that you can get samples from your doctor. when i worked at an internal med office we would give patients that needed certian meds and could not afford them and if we had them we would give it to them. there is even prescription drug programs out there that help patients get the meds that they need.
i am on medicaid and the only way it will take my prescription is if the nurse practitioner writes on the script "for brand name only". i don't know how it works but it does.
goodluck,

I have blue cross blue shield fed and it was covered at 35.00 for 3 months mail order--now it would be $65.00 as they went up on name brand however generic cost me nothing or $10.00---but not everything comes in generic.
What gets me the cost of Wellbutrin If I had to pay for it out right is $900.00 the same if it was the name brand or generic
These drug companies like to make their money
Be care full of mail order---unless it is part of your insurance plan---some of the sites on line you might not be getting the real thing

Most Social Security part D insurances will cover it if you can show that you have tried all the other medications and none were effective. It costs just over $200 where I live.
