Hey Apriltones,
My mom used to take this stuff called SAM-E, it's a natural over the counter anti-depressant that raises your seratonin levels. About 4 years ago it costed 50.00 a bottle/ per month.
KSP
I believe St. John's Wort is in that class.
The natural stuff can have side effects, and some people react to it. Just a caution:
I'd check w/doc before starting anything.
Good luck
There are a couple studies out now that say St Johns Wort is as effective as things like Prozac and Paxil. But, this is also something that can effect other drugs you may be taking. So be cautionary about adding it without talking to your doc, or at least read about drug interactions.
Hi,
Just a word of coution about meds like St John's Worth. In My country it has been taken off shop display and is only available on prescription. The reason is side effects and reactions to other meds. There is a particular warning that it can neutralise the the effect of some contraceptives.
Dont get caught.
I have a low serotonin level and I take 5HTP, Feverfew and 400mg of B2. Along with Cymbalta. All this was told by my headache doctor and seems to be working pretty good.
My doctor has put me on Serotonin 5mgs recently. I also was encouraged by the doctor to get L-Tyrosine and 5HTP they are both natural and help me. I'm sure there are foods that help to.
thanks for advice, been researching, i can see some have contadictions etc. i have kalms, they are fine xx
I use 3 anti-depressant helpers: Homeopathic Serotonin, B12, and
medicinal M.J. There are now 13 states that have legalized it. I use it for depression, anxiety, sleep, and stomach upset.
Finally people are understanding that natural methods, without chemicals, are the way of the future..............slow but sure.
And "laughter" elevates serotonin as well.............."funspirit"
