My neighbor has fibro like Me.We were talking and I told her I want to go back to the tanning salon.(i just moved and havent been tanning) but anyway I told her I thought that the tanning was good for me cause the heat.SHe said her docter told her it was bad tanning for fibro cause it does something to the nerves.Has anyone else heard of that?? I know tanning is not good cause skin cancer and so on but I like to go once a week,it helps relax me!!!!

Re: Is Tanning Salon Bad for fibro???

The Rheumy I went to last year actually recommended it to me. She said, as you, it relaxes you and... She told me not to go "often" but here and there may help. I am so worried about skin cancer because my aunt and father had it. Would be interesting to hear what others think. One thing to remember...most of us take medicine and tanning beds and meds do not mix well at all.

My choice is not to take a chance, it's a personal opinion. Best of luck to you in getting feedback on this.

Hugs, Annie

Re: Is Tanning Salon Bad for fibro???

I guess I don't see where tanning beds would hurt fibro, but if you have other auto immune problems like lupus etc. it could cause you some serious problems. Just a suggestion to be sure you don't have any overlap symptoms of other autoimmune problems.
