I also have fibro ect arthritis am waiting for op nov and then the above iam not happy.
My gluclose is a little above normal all the time, there is a special blood test they do to see if you will become diabetic. I cannot remember what it is called. My DR. wanted me to go have it done but it is almost time for my yearly blood work so will have it done then. It is only the normal fasting for blood work and only one test, the Dr. said it will just be checked with the blood they take you of you for the cbc, etc.
Myofascal pain syndrome
Arthritis, cervical and thorastic
I am diabetic among many other things with Fibro. I did not get the other illnesses/diseases unti after being diagnosed with fibro. i am not sure if it had anything to do with it or not. i just know my health deterioted after fibro
I was pre-daibetic for about a year before it turned into Diabetes. At one time I had to go through the glucose tolerance test, and it took 4 hours if I remember correctly. That is when they had diagnosed me as a pre-diabetic.
My new primary doctor only sends me to the lab for a Hemoglobin A1C. This lab test will tell you the average of your blood sugars for the previous three months. You don't even have to fast for this test and it is very quick.
Your fasting numbers do suggest that you are a diabetic. You should be under a 6.1. Anything over this number means that the patient has diabetes not pre-diabetic. Please make sure that you see a Dietitian you will now have to go on a low-carb diet. I have found that the main thing is, try not to eat anything or very little, that contains white flour. But if you do see a counselor they will explain everything to you. Their is also a board on these forums for Diabetes, and I have found a lot of helpful information there. I wish you the very best.
