| Re: update and question
hi april,
perhaps you might start with physical therapy. aqua therapy, exercise, massage, and fibromyalgia release therapy. next you might try meditation. a pain clinic will help you learn techniques for meditation. there are also some very good books at your local book store that teach the many different choices of meditation. i do walking meditation. it is easy (once i got the hang of it) and i get exercise at the same time.
your body is going to build a tolerance to any drug you take for pain. my doc says there really is no pill yet for the pain of fibro. i agree with her. pills take the edge off, for sure, but make it go completely away, nope. i do not like feeling dopey, so i meditate and do my therapies.
i disagree with your doctors. perhaps they do not have enough first hand knowledge of pain management clinics and are stating an opinion which is often much different from fact.
be persistant, little sister.
peace,
