Hello, I'm just trying this out to see if getting on this Fibro Healthboards works. I sent a message yesterday but I don't think it went through.

I want to introduce myself. I've had fibro for about 15 years. I'm in a bad flare right now, especially in my right leg and knee. I work part-time and my job is very stressful right now. I take antidepressants (tricyclic) and get physical therapy (Hellerwork). I'm taking a sleeping pill (temazepam) that I think is making me worse, even though I'm sleeping. It's probably not a restorative sleep, though. Anyone else find that with temazep

am?

I've been reading Healthboards (fibro) for over a year but just getting signed up now.

Hi & welcome to the boards! I'm sure many people here will really benifit from your knowledge of this illness since you have had it for so long. I am on none of the meds that you are so I can't really comment on that, I just wanted to say welcome!

Hello ukulele lady,

Welcome to the fibro family here. You are in such a good place and as you have had fibro for so long, you will be such a big help to all of us. I have had fibro for about 1/12 years, mine is secondary. I have SLE and a host of other things going on, but the love, help and caring from this forum is wonderful to me.

I personally don't take specific painkillers or drugs for my fibro, because I am on such a mixture of medications for other problems and also unfortunately I can't take all of the usual painkilling drugs because of interaction with my day to day medications.

I am sure though that someone will come here and speak of their own use of these type of medications.

As I said before welcome to the family.

Thank you, ladies, for your replies. I'm not sure if this is the way to respond or if I should start a new thread.

It is very special to be a part of this board. I have had fibro for a long time and have tried many, many things. I've watched what others have tried on this board. My doctor just prescribed Cymbalta to me. Anxiety is a big part of fibro for me so I'll see how this works. I first got the symptoms of Fibro when I was 32, after a back injury. I had also been going through a stressful time. It seems many of our stories are similar.

I know some of you have tried Cymbalta out there. How is it working now?
