how do you get diagnosed with this? i had it when younger and feel i have now aswell as as fibro!
i get pains in face,head and out of line teeth when close mouth,clicking jaw,grinding teeth x

Hi April, Hope you're doing well today!!

The jaw specialist sent me to the hospital to have an x-ray done of both sides. They injected some dye type stuff into the joints too.

The guy doing the x-ray was so excited to show the "new" x-ray tech. how bad one of my joints was. Yippee for me....

Other side was/is bad also.

sorry to hear it love2 but better to know what's wrong. i find xrays fascinating and scans and always appreciate when the technicians/doc explain things at the time instead of leaving the hospital and waiting for results.

my right jaw is arthritic and one dentist i had, asked me not to open my mouth when he was wthin earshot haha because of the noise it makes. i told him he should look out for the rest of me if he thinks thats noisy. i always believed it was only me who could hear it, always surprised when others comment on it.

thankfully my teeth are in not too bad condition considering the steroids, at least my hygenist and dentist are pleased. i was given a plastic thing to wear at night so my teeth dont grind, it kept falling out, so they make one of a stronger material, it stays in, it releases the jaw a little and it doesnt click and crunch so much. it is also that side where i had an impacted wisdom tooth in my youth, and that side i get ear problems sometimes.
