Any teens with FMS?

I was just wondering if any teens or parents of teens could tell me what your symptoms of Fibromyalgia are and how much trouble it causes you?

Re: Any teens with FMS?

I am a teen, 18 to be exact, and I will tell you all about me and my pain and stuff! I promise. Just give me a few hours because I'm already late for school! (Senior year--12 more days!) I'll be home a little after 10:30 and will get on right away ... which I do anyway, but, yeah...

GOd bless!

Re: Any teens with FMS?

Okay, here are my symptoms:

*joint pain
~especially/mainly knees

*muscle pain and weakness
~everywhere; back, shoulders and neck are worst

*fatigue
~sometimes quite severe; constant

*depression
~on Zoloft and it is working well

*migraines
~24/7; sometimes worse, sometimes better

*chest pain

*abdominal pain
~this includes IBS

*"fibrofog"

*frequent short lived lightheadedness

*numbness and tingling sensations
~mainly arms and legs

*hives

*hypersomnia
~and non-restorative sleep

*irritability

*eye pain

As for how much trouble it causes me, I would say a great deal. My daily life IS majorly affected. I do, however, go about normal routines like school and work, but not easily. It's more or less because I have to.

If you have any more questions, I'm here!

Re: Any teens with FMS?

That is always what the doctors say to begin with. It took me a very long time to convince my doc that it wasn't all in my head and when I was finally sent to a pediatric rhuemetologist it was confirmed that I was correct. It isn't all in my head, it is very very real.
