| Fibromyalgia-hormone connection
I had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. I had everything removed-cervix,uterus,ovaries. I also had bladder repair. I had had alot of fibro like symptoms long before the hyst and always going to the doctor. I didn't want to be on hormones. Never saw a connection. I suffered with burning leg pain, muscle and joint pain. In fact the hyst was done hoping to relieve the pain. Thought the enlarged uterus was the culprit. Anyway...I declined estogen replacement after the hyster, but the hot flashes and sleepless nights made me reconsider. My leg pain had also returned so I was so down about that.I have done alot of research now, which I wish I had done befor the Hyst. I started taking estrace 1 mg. I have been on it about a week. Hot flashes almost gone, but strangely enough the leg pain-burning aching, is so much better!!!!!! I cant even begin to describe the relief.Ladies check out book by Elizabeth Lee Vliet M. D. called " Screaming to be Heard". She talks about estrogen deficiency and fibro. It is eye opening!!! RKay
