| Re: Question about leg pain......
I can't even stand a hot bath or shower anymore, it makes me hurt so bad all over. All I can do is try to distract myself from the pain. What I do for me is usually I will either squeeze my knee with nails to cause a little pain OR more often I have found I can use the pressure point between thumb & forefinger. If you press correctly, you can use that spot to get rid of migraines. Press it incorrectly and it hurts, but just enough to distract, the harder you press the more pain there. The only other thing I can do is keep moving, it seems to hurt a little less or maybe it is just the distraction.
To be honest, with this unknown leg pain and some muscle tremors I have recently developed, I am concerned about neuropathy as well. My mom had it, non-diabetic. My dad also had it but his was diabetic. They never determined why my mom had it, just that her brain did not function 100% correctly. Shortly before she died, she had an EEG (brain scan thing) done and the dr told her brain function was like mine, not exactly. I am ADHD as well and the drs tested me as a toddler and told my parents my brain did not function properly. Also told my parents I could develop seizures or any other type brain disorder. Fortunately I was a gifted student and I never had seizures, although I did "zone out" as a child so bad I could literally be picked up and moved and I never had a reaction. Her neurologist did say her neuropathy could be because of the brain function, if that's the reason then I definitely have reason to be concerned.
I am bringing both of these issues up w/ my current rheumy at my next appt. Haven't told him yet but I am going to ask my PCP for referral to a differnt rheumy, mostly becuase this one doesn't seem to listen and would not even let me have anything of rmigraines butI am going to tell my dr I just want to stay within the same network of physicians, even though our ins will pay for the other dr who is not in the same network. We basically have 2 hospitals and physician networks here. PCP is in 1 group and rheumy is in the other. I prefer to keep everything in 1 so they don't have to get records sent, they are already in the computer system for any dr I see.
