memory - Fibromyalgia Message Board

hi guys.

i've had the fibrofog for a long time. my memory deteriorated so quickly, i felt pretty crazy for not remembering things. besides the little things, what bothered me even more was how i could express myself in writing so well, but when i speak i always seem to lose the word i'm looking for......always makes me feel silly.

when i started treatment for fibro, i started elavil and cymbalta at night. i slept so well, my pain decreased, but my fatigue was even worse. after awhile, i started taking provigil during the day, which seems to help keep me alert and i'm able to work full time, etc.

at the same time of my diagnosis, i met a wonderful man and fell so in love. but one year later, we seem to fight about so many little things, and most of it involves me not remembering things. he is so good with me most of the time. so understanding of fibro. but he always throws out that i don't listen to him or that i have selective memory........and its so hard to hear, because when i sincerely feel clueless about a situation that happened, or a story, etc...... i have complete awareness of how this fibrofog affects me and my relationshis. and it feels like no one will ever understand or believe me. i guess i just don't know what to do next.

Can I join too? Just this week I knew I had to get my son a BDay card and get his box in the mail so he could receive it by Saturday. I had my chance yesterday to get out and get the card because of our horrendous snow storms for the past 4 weeks ~ I don't drive much in the snow.

I went out yesterday and totally forgot the card.

My hubby snapped at me this morning several times. I am hurt and heartbroken that I forgot to get the card but mostly that I got snapped at for for forgetting it. Add insult to injury.

We have our bickering matches and they are becoming more frequent. There are days I wonder if this relationship will make it. Just don't know anymore.

Some days life just stinks for me

i forget everything. i forget words, i forget what i am doing and i also have a hard time doing things like this. it takes me forever to do these post because i can't concentrate and type what i am thinking and loose train of thought super easy. sometimes i have to come back and finish.
