Gabapentin for nerve pain? - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Anyone tried this?
My Dr. just prescribed this for me. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with it?

Tawny -

I just started Lyrica which is the newer version of Gabapentin (Neurontin). So far side effects are only tiredness. Seems to help the pain a little, but I don't think I've been on it enough. Good luck, let's hope we get some relief. Do you have nerve pain? Where is it located?

Hi Nancy,
I just started two nights ago. The pharmasist said I should feel effects within a week! I am excited!
I have pain that is not easy for me to explain. It can be anywhere on my body. It is extreme. So extreme that I say "ugh" out loud. It may last for 1 minute in one spot or 2 days.

Be prepared for some weight gain. I asked my doctor if this happens and he said yes.
