Just wondering if anyone bruises a lot with their fibromyalgia? I always have new bruises on my legs and don't know why. I don't take any meds that would cause this---is this a symptom of fibro?
Well, I don't get as many as I used to (meaning just a couple months ago) but back then I never DIDN'T have tons of bruises. Lately, I haven't noticed any though, except for one big one on my shin (but I know why that one's there!). And when I used to get them, I had no idea where they were coming from. Lately, I don't know why I haven't been getting them; I haven't had any major lifestyle changes or anything . . .

I bruise very easily. Also, if i have an itch, i get bruised just from scratching it. Infact the other nite i notice a HUGE bruise on my upper leg where i had scratched from an itch.
Not sure if it's a symptom of fibro or not.
Sometimes I bruise from very minor things, like my cat jumped onto my lap one day and I ended up w/ a bruise on my thigh. But most days, I can feel a bruise but it doesn't show on the surface. I would hate to see me under one of those ultraviolet cameras that can detect bruises not seen on the surface. I constantly have places that will hurt for days and then gradually improve, just like its bruised, but no bruise is visible on the surface. My PCP told me most likely it is a bruise, but sometimes they don't appear on the surface.
I get bruises from just looking at my skin. Seriously I have always had bruises and didn't know where they came from. I use to get them as a child so I don't think it is the fibro. I do however bruise just from scratching and that was before I started taking prednisone which will make you bruise very easily. I think it is just the individual and not necessarily the fact we have fibro.
