Angry Heart skipping beats, fibro??

Lately my heart has been skipping beats more often.. This is getting scarry. My dr did a EKG and it was fine,, just like every other test he has ever done on me has been. I get so tired of being told "your test was fine"

How do you go threw life everyday feeling like you are going to die!
One of my husbands favorite questions for me is " what do we want to do with the rest of our lives" my comeback is always " i dont know" and i really dont. I dont even want to think of my future, i only get buy one day at a time!
dose anyone else have problems with there heart? What tests should i ask dr to run? How do i know this is just fibro?
I was rear ended in car crash on may 4 and ever since then i have been in a flair up from he**.
Thank you

Re: Heart skipping beats, fibro??

Hi there -

When all of my symptoms started about 2.5 years ago I started getting skipped beats and palpitations. I have had every heart test except the most invasive (a heart cath) and all have come back fine. It was found out that I had a severe Vitamin D deficiency and am anemic as well so I don't know if that contributes to the heart symptoms or not. I know my symptoms have gotten better since I've been treated for the anemia and Vit D deficiency. Even my pain has gotten much better. I have read that many instances of people with Fibromyalgia having racing hearts, skipped beats, etc. Sometimes I wonder if hormonal changes don't play a part in all of this as well.

Re: Heart skipping beats, fibro??

Hi Tammy!
I never attributed my fibro to my heart palpatations and rapid heart beat. My heart will beat strangely if I am cold, upset, excited or even if I lie down to take a nap (when my fatigue wins.) Everytime I go to any doctor they can detect my funky heart beat before I have a chance to tell them.
I have somewhat abandoned the traditional medical community and have started seeing an MD who is also a Naturopath(sp?).
He has me on this line of supplements called "Standard Process." A couple are digestive enzymes and the others are for I don't know what. BUT, I think the ones that are for "I don't know what" have helped my heart, not cured, but helped. They are called "Catalyst" and "Drenamin" and "Zypan." If you are interested, you can contact the company "Standard Process" and see. I would do it for you, but I have to get my daughter to school and if I don't respond now, I may forget. You know how that is!
These products don't cure fibro, but they have helped my heart enough for me to take notice.
Take care,
love,
Fousie

Re: Heart skipping beats, fibro??

Hi, I've had problems for the past couple of years. I would go through "spells" of heart flip-flops and clusters of fast beats that would freak me out, especially in the middle of the night. Sometimes these spells last for two weeks then they disappear. I also have shortness of breath w/ these spells too. My doctor has done EKG's and say there's nothing wrong and that I most likely havd PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contractions). I've read up on this and supposedly there is no danger and alot of people have them but some people don't notice them as easily as others. He said my having high BP is probably why I can feel them more. No matter what he says or what I read, I feel like I'm going to die of a heart attack sometimes too. I still want to see a heart specialist one of these days. Right now I'm still new to this crappy Fibro thing so I'm dealing w/ that first. Just had my sleep study done and now I'm waiting for my follow up appt. So basically I guess none of know whether it's a coincidence we're all experiencing these "heart problems" or if it truly is Fibro related. Hmmmmmmmmm..........good luck!
