You might be able to get help with this from a pain mgmt doc.
Percocet helps, but i can only take 5 mg twice a day tops because i got addicted/dependent on it. I used to take 15 mg every 5 hours and would get severe joint and muscle pain as it wore off and i thought it was from fibro. It wasn't until i weaned off that I realized it was from withdrawal. Tramadol is good, but i have seen on the addiction board where that can be addictive also, maybe just to addicts that abuse it.
Hi all - no Ultram / Tramadol is not only addictive to drug users. I have FM and was taking 1/2 to 1 tab at bedtime (Rheumy had ordered 1 tab 4 times a day). Well, I started to have adverse effects so stopped it after 4 months and had mild withdrawl symtpoms, so I can only imagine the withdrawl if on it long term or on higher doses. I seem to get advserse reaction to all the meds I have tried. My main problem is sleeping or rather the lack thereof (can deal with the aches and pains most of the time). Am going back to my PCP this week - maybe he will have a suggestion.....hope so as the nights get long and lonely...to say nothing of the tiredness I experience.
Hello there everyone and how are you all? I am from the united kingdom and liked what you have explained about FM. I have had it for 20 years and I have also got osteoarthritis as well as R.S.I and going deafer. I am a mother of 3 lovely children and married to a wonderful man. WE have a daughter who is fine and we have 2 autistic sons too. We struggle together but we get there in the end. I feel that the FM is getting worse now and I have low blood pressure too which is not nice at all and have black lips with it too. Thank you for letting me join you.
