Question I have a few ?'s and am a new member so please dont hate me for all my ?s!!!! :P

I recentely been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and am seeing the #1 Dr. Pellegrino in Ohio and one of the top specialists in the country on this disease. I have been having many treatments including IV Lidocaine and the Lidocaine Injections as well as being on Lyrica and Tramadol and sometimes the 750mg Vicodins. NOTHING seems to get rid of my pain and even more concerning to me is this really STRANGE, WEIRD symptom that I cannot find listed on any site ( i thought i may have lupus, MS or lyme disease since they can all mask each other ). However this symptom feels like someone is pricking my entire body from the inside out when i walk or get up to move and sometimes when im just sitting and move my head or arms; Also, It is getting worse, when it happens, but it doesnt happen all the time and I cannot predict when it will happen, its not really painful but its starting to also cause dizziness when it happens .... I do have several more problems regarding older injuries (falling backwards down the stairs last year ~ of course the Drs. then said their was nothing wrong even though my spine, back, neck, hips, ect hurt ALL the time). [removed]... Its really starting to bother me because it can just start happening anytime, not normally when im just sitting, but I cant just sit around all the time .... Has anyone experienced anything like this?? I am only 26 and was diagnosed @ 25 which is around when most woman are diagnosed from what I read.
I was also wondering how much worse does this disease get? I mean, Dr. Mark is in constant pain he says (although he is trying many new not on the market drugs/trials that have helped or are helping) and he is almost completely deaf. I absolutely love him as he is the VERY FIRST DR. who has actually listened to me and touched every trigger point (which he could barely touch, i have all of them, and due to that he also diagnosed me with hypersensitive skin or somethign like that). If anyone out there has experience, which I am sure many of you do, could you please help me.... especially with the prickly weird sensation?? Thank you to whomever answers my post as I am new and this is my first Post you will all be my 's
More than Sincerely

Ktat, what a long name you've chosen!! I'm a recent fibro and to this forum as well, the prickling you describe is a symptom I can soooo relate to, weird ain't it? No-one can say what will happen in the future, we share some symptoms, but not all with the same person, that's fibro Most of us also have other problems running alongside just to make life interesting! Never give up, keep posting, there is a lot of caring and supportative lasses on here, some that have had fibro for longer than you or I have been on this sweet earth and I'm no spring chick like good yourself. Sensitive skin is another symptom as is over sensitivity to pain and becoming over emotional I don't know much about the meds side of symptom treatment as I'm in the UK and some of the meds have different names. I find acupuncture helps me a lot, massage when I can take it and using a TENS unit, standby for more prickles from that! Seaweed baths, epsom salts and drinking tonic water also helps me with cramps and rls. Take each day as it comes Sweet, no doubt you will receive a lot more info, tips and advice from the other lasses on the forum, no-one minds the Qs, nice to have met youtake care, keep well Snoozyowl

Welcome ktat, we love Q's cause when someone answers we all learn. So keep on asking.

I have the burning pain, like snoozy said we all are different. Some can relate some can't. I also have sensitive skin and the neck, shoulders, back stuff going on. Oh heck I just hurt all over but I keep moving and exercising, what the hecks a fibromight to do. To answer one of your questions, Yes FM does progress. I know it was said that it doesn't that it will never get dibilitating but whoever said that didn't have fibro. My pain and symptoms have increased over the years but so has my age. Don't know if age has anything to do with it but it does have a lot to do with lifestyle. No more kids to keep up with and family to keep going etc. I can relax more, but I also am not as active. I do try to exercise and stay as active as possible but again I don't have as many 'have to's' anymore! Hang in there!

Unhappy Re: I have a few ?'s and am a new member so please dont hate me for all my ?s!!!! :P

I know exactly how you feel! One thing you can be happy about is that you have a good Dr. I can't find anybody who cares or understands. They took me off my pain meds except for one, that doesn't really work, and told me that I am going to have the pain for the rest of my life and that it would be best if I just accepted it and got used to it. How do you get used to having the feeling of needles stuck all over your body, or the feeling like your back is on fire, or the feeling like somebody is plucking the nerves, muscles, and tendants in your legs like they are playing a guitar, the numbness in fingers, arms, toes, feet, etc., stabbing pain, throbbing pain and just the constant pain that is always there pain??????????? I wish I could tell you how bad it can get, but I can't and I don't think anybody knows for sure. I just know some new pain or weirdness pops up all the time and that things that used to relieve some things, stop working and there seems to be NO END to the suffering that we have to endure. I pray every night that this will stop happening to all of us, but the prayer hasn't been answered, yet. Maybe/ hopefully your Dr will figure out what to do for us. It would be a miracle!!!!
I wish I could tell you more positive things, but I am sorry I don't know any!!!

Suffering with you,
Winnie
