I posted a bit of this under the thyroid thread but I wanted to make this information stand out a little more so I've started a new thread here.

I went to my doctors today and for the SECOND time I found out that they did not run some tests that I had thought they had. I switched doctors recently within the same practice and apparently doc2 had assumed that doc1 had done her job and run thyroid tests........she didn't. A few months ago I asked specifically about Lyme disease and found out that the test was never run, even though the doc and I discussed it. I've had similar situations before with tests not being run in other situations,unrelated to FM.

I am going to make a list of everything that I SHOULD have been tested for, to rule out things like Lupus and Lyme and I'm going to ask my doc to run down the list and make sure she has NEGATIVE test results. THEN I'm going to get copies of all my bloodwork and make sure that she takes the time to explain it all to me. I would strongly SUGGEST that you all do the same. These are good,suburban doctors that I deal with, not some fly by night organizations. I've also had a lot more testing,etc because I have personal choice, so I don't have to get referrals and deal with those headaches. And apparently there were things STILL missed.

I'm completely APPALLED that some of these tests weren't run and I'm wondering what else was skipped over!! It's frightening to know that I'm being treated with PT and medications,etc when they haven't ruled out some very important illnesses!!!!

PS. I've had SO much blood drawn lately that as I was getting more drawn today, my little girl came over(very worried) to ask if I was going to run out of blood and die.....
