O.k., so I've heard about flaxseed oil and decided to try it myself. After spending 15 minutes deciding between the smaller bottle (100 pills for $7.39) and the monster bottle (240 pills for $13.84) I settled on the best buy-which is my usual approach<smile>

Anyway, they are 1000 mgs and I've taken one twice daily for three days and can not believe how less achy,stiff and bruised I feel. I'm not saying I have all this energy now but it has definitely reduced the pain and allowed me to get a chore done without getting that "hit by a truck" feeling.

For the money I think it's worth it to try it yourself but NOT if you're pregnant or nursing.

Tess, I've been taking 1000mg 1x a day for about a month now and it's put my IB into complete remission. I was told that it was coincedence so I went off of them for a week and the IB came right back. I'm thrilled to totally get rid of a major symptom. Hey, I'll add it to my gratitude list! (you have to see my post to petey to "get" this)

I have a question for Copper or anyone else who knows--- I was asked if Flax Seed Oil contains any allergens. I've been chatting with someone who has severe reactions to things in the grass family, such as ragweed. I didn't thing the Flax oil had anything but don't want someone to go into anaphalatic shock because I'm a dodo.

Hi cioc1212, ANY food can cause allergic reaction, especially, like you said, grasses.

The Latin name for flax is: Linum usitatissimum. I'm looking in a PDR, and it does not specify that it is a grass. It is listed as an annual, flowering plant that grows 20 - 250cm high. There are no listed side effects or health hazards with therapeutic dosage.
