I would ask a specialist that is board certifried if they know of this. They are the most experianced and trained doctors in this area. I would also ask my doctor. Have you been useing some thing new that your hands touch? Could it be an allergic reaction? Good luck, Kim Ps: My whole boby turns red and I also swell, my whole body that is. Very uncomfortable.
Hi Kim, thanks for your reply. No, I'm not using anything different. This is something that has been ongoing for approx 3 years now.
My hands and feet always stayed cold, until one day 3 years ago, all of a sudden my hands started getting hot.
My doctor and the other 2 I've seen about this don't have any idea.
I experience the same thing, and I do have osteoarthritis. I've shown this to my docs (MD, Neuro, and Chiro) and they don't seem too concerned. Since it doesn't seem to affect much else, except those are days my hands hurt more, I haven't pursued it further. If you find something out, let us know.

Strawberry- VERY IMPORTANT- Check your meds.I have been like a popsicle for years and then the Celexa raised my body temp and I was hot. The Ultram makes me sweat, particularly my head/hair, I wind up with sweat dripping down my face and it's COLD here. I also get rashes, etc from certain meds. Also, now that I think about it, certain vitamins cause an increase in blood flow, there's one in particular but I can't remember what it is.
I have s similar problem but it only covers a small area of my palm. It is dishydrosis eczema. My dermatologist diagnosed it and said that with FM and the fact that I also have a Nikel alergy which all go hand in hand--so to speak. I have redness and now and then I get very small blisters that is all part of it. Skin problems are considered common with FM patients from what I have been told by the dermatologist and rheumatologist I have gone to.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one!I've also had the "red palms" on my hands for about 4 years. When this happens my hands swell, get extremely hot, and then comes the pain. What is strange is that my mother also has this, and the doctors have never been able to explain what it is. Even though I have been diagnosed with CFS and FMS, my mother hasn't, but I wonder if she doesn't also have FMS. Seems to be hereditary, huh? Please post if you ever get a diagnosis about it that explains it.
