| Re: any help for flareup?
hi bevann,
first welcome to the boards.
for travel here is what i do. i always fly/travel handicapped. this way i never stand in lines. they bring a wheelchair to the curb for me. push me and my driver right thru the whole mess. if you have someone who is driving you and assisting you till you get on the plane you ask the person who is pushing you to stop and get a pass for them so they can go thru security with you.
now for the drive. i usually have someone drive me as it is a 2 hour drive to the nearest airport. we stop often and i stretch, walk about a bit, bend over and touch my toes. stuff like that to keep me loose. i take one vallium half an hour before flight time so i will be relaxed. i love to fly, however, i know how excited i get and even fun excitement can cause pain.
during the flight, for myself only about an hour in the air, i get up and walk a bit. i always take up two seats so i can be restless without disturbing anyone. so far i have not had to share. of course the fact that i am curled up in two seats with my head resting on the back sorta keeps anyone from wanting to sit by me. people are nice and usually very helpful. i know the flight staff always treat me like a queen.
i do hope you feel better soon. oh, and i eat light, take my own water. they will allow it if you say you have meds that dry your mouth up. i get thru security with mine. water is very important when doing the stress of travel during a flare up.
gentle journey to you.
peace,
bluelakelady
