In Arizona we just passed thru the oven, like 116 degrees. Now, tho the temps will lower a tad, the humility increases because it's our monsoon season and theoretically it rains(My Fibro can feel the weather changes, no joke). Don't ya'all believe that blather about frying an egg on the sidewalk in Phoenix--fact is, you could grill a 25 oz. Porterhouse steak with all the trimmings. I hear you folks North of us have your own problems. Do you really have mosquitoes as big as helicopters? Does this post prove that the desert heat eventually fries your brain...nah! Arizona Al

Hi Allen,
I'm in Houston, Texas, and I would bet we could fry eggs, too! It really does effect my energy level. I'm in ******* mode - come out when the sun goes down.

I can definately identify with ya'll's descriptions since we folks in MS have been feeling the heat and humidity too. ******* mode sucks too! Good name for it, Karen!! Getting outta the bed at dawn to get things done outside before the sun comes up and not going to bed until well after dark cause you were out there trying to finish up what I didn't get to finish that morning is about to sap what little energy I used to have. Allen, you don't have to go north to find huge skeeters....you are welcome to come to MS and I'll show you our swamp skeeters(my daughter calls them pterodactyl skeeters)---one of those things could fly you back home for free..LOL! Try to stay cool!!

We've been having a wet time in PA and the mosquitos are definitely on the move. We have to really watch out, there have been quite a few cases of West Nile Virus on the East Coast. I don't know if it's more or less prevalant in other parts of the country but it certainly makes those itchy little bites a lot less innocuous!

Having lived in the west from El Paso (my husband & I met there)to Las Vegas, i know exactly what you mean. The heat sux, but I think you'll fair better than the cold...

I now reside (for business reasons) in Mississippi (the south)... We don't get bothered by mosquitos man, we just hop on them and ride them to work and to shopping malls!!
